We are asking Georgian International to stop the demolition of the Craighurst schoolhouse and reconsider including it in the commercial development of the southeast corner of Craighurst. A beautiful and prominent building, it has been repurposed over the years as an Art Gallery and Pottery shop and could further serve as a restaurant, office space or retail shop. It is one of the few buildings remaining (nearly 150 years old) from the period when Craighurst had three hotels and was an important stop on the Penetanguishene Rd between Barrie and Midland.
