October 25,2021 was just like any other day, until it wasn't. My boyfriend, Craig Mattox, knocked at my front door. As I answered the door, unaware and ill-prepared for what was to come, I was greeted with a familiar smile. As he stepped out of the night and into the light of my studio apartment, I stood in shock and awe. There, atop his lip, was a mustache so glorious Tom Selleck himself would cry with envy. I shrieked with excitement, and we rejoiced with a high-five. 

That day has long passed. If I had only known his stache would be met with a razor blade so sharp, sharper than the metaphorical dagger to my heart, I would have savored the moment and taken more than a single picture.
