

BMRCL has now come up with Version 3 of R6 - the line from Gottigere to Nagawara. Version 1 had Cantonment Metro Station opposite the Main Entrance of Cantonment Railway Station. Version 2 took the Cantonment Metro Station to the Madina Playgorund. Version 3 turns the line before Nagawara towards Hebbal Flyover along the Ring Road.
Remember, until this moment, work done on the Underground Section from Dairy Circle to Nagawara is a BIG ZERO. The entire line - the most important line of Namma Metro - is getting into massive delay. Airport and Train Connectivity is at stake too.
To solve many challenges faced by this line, I suggest change in alignment of R6 - From Shivajinagar Bus Stand, retain the alignment as in Version 1 to Cantonment Railway Station. From here, take it elevated to Mekhri Circle and from there to Hebbal Flyover.
Huge Benefits :
* Length of Alignment reduced by 4.18 Kms.
* New Alignment is Fully Elevated (cheaper and faster)
* No land acquisition - due to existing wide roads
* Drastic cost reduction due to reduced length and also due to elevated instead of Underground. At least 2000 Crores saved.
* No. of Stations reduced from 7 to 4.
* Project completion and Airport Link completion will happen quicker.
* Railway Integration at Cantonment restored.
* Playground saved.
* No demolitions along this alignment.
