Benson Town folks have come out openly demanding the Cantt Metro Station at the playground, because BMRCL has convinced them that if the Metro Station is located outside the Main Entrance of CanttRlyStn (as approved), an Apartment in Benson Town will have to be demolished. We requested BMRCL to look into several options so that Metro Station location is retained (as approved) and solve the other issues. However, it seems there is a misinformation campaign with the intent to have the Metro Station at the Playground itself - come what may. Unfortunately, some Benson Town folks have become Party to this, without giving any importance to proper integration and also falling prey to whatever they have been told by BMRCL. These folks have played a key role in getting the focus back onto the Playground as the location of the CanttMetroStn. At this stage, we hope better sense will prevail and the Metro Station location will not be changed, the playground will be saved, traffic congestion and pollution reduction will be seriously looked into, daily hardship to thousands of COMMON COMMUTERS will be avoided, indirect long-term costs running into humongous amounts will be avoided, and a practical and equitable solution will be found. The Decision-makers will have to be answerable and it is hoped they will take the right decision quickly.
