My name is Lauren Greer.

 I have been learning and skating for almost two years at my home park, Cushing. I've come to love the community I see at Cushing, but I also see a need for the community to be supported in a new way. 

I believe covering the Skatepark is a necessary quality of life improvement for everyone on and off wheels. 

The city of Englewood has a duty to maintain publicly enjoyed properties to a degree of usability. No cover at the park increases chances of heat exhaustion, burns, personal injury, and dehydration. 

Children and families have started using the area more. This is due to the nearby playground receiving upgrades as well as the addition of the dog park. The cost of those upgrades came to $601,486.

 A covering for Cushing averages at 1\8 the cost, $75,000.

I urge the city to think about how this area has seen increased traffic, but has not received care in the same manner as the other nearby attractions.
