From Sherry Elderkin --> Concerned Citizens of Coventry, RI via facebook
As a member of the Coventry comprehensive plan advisory committee I will be hosting a meeting on November 30, 2022 from 6pm to 8pm at the Auditorium in the towns Annex (1675 Flat River Rd) to discuss land use and to receive input as to the communities ideas. I am hoping you would share this with your families and friends so we as a town can unite and work as a community to guide our town's growth.
This is a great opportunity for the community's voice to be heard and hopefully block future developments that are unwanted.
My suggestion would be for the residents to join this meeting with written ideas they are willing to provide to me the night of the meeting as well as to speak on their views. We will not be there to speak on current or past developments but to ensure past mistakes are not repeated and we have a supporting document that protects future uses.
For example there is a growth center identified by the state in western coventry. I know many people do not wish for western and greene to develop business however some businesses may be welcomed such as farm stands, breweries, wineries, or perhaps a bike shop by the bike path. Maybe we say only agricultural type businesses are welcome. Or Identify this area to not permit solar arrays unless for personal use to offset electricity for your home. (what would that look like.. perhaps it only allows roof panels and nothing more)
If you are unable to attend the meeting, wish more information or want to provide feedback prior to the meeting please email me at sherry4district1@gmail.com.
I can assure you all your comments will be reviewed and utilized in developing the towns future land uses.
