The Removal of the Confederate Dedication Statue in front of our County Courthouse.

The Issue

The Statue located in front of the county courthouse at 1 North Washington Avenue, Brownsville, Tennessee 38012. WE, the public feel as though the public cleaning of it was a metaphorical “slap in the face” to people of color and those who stand for what is right. In light of all the social outcry all across this world related to bigotry and hatred by the deaths of George Floyd, Ahmaud Aubrey, and a host of other violent deaths targeted against minority groups, this time was extremely apropos engaging in the upkeep of this statue at this particular time.
