“STOP THE NEEDLESS KILLING!”

The root cause of the unnecessary killing going on at the Kauai Humane Society is the 20 yr. old (outdated) County Contract and State law. The State law says “Only” the Kauai Humane Society gets to bid for the County Contract as "Animal Control" of population by "Disposal and Disposition" (Killing, even perfectly healthy adoptable animals) and receive $760,000 a year of tax payer dollars. (This fact is kept hidden from our community for obvious reasons). The Kauai "Humane" Society's focus should be on saving animals lives and honoring what their Mission Statement states! The way this can happen is by our community insisting the current wording of the County Contract with KHS be changed to "Animal Friendly” pro-life wording and for updated procedures, proven to save tax payers money and animal’s lives. This would put an instant end to the problems the current County Contract has been causing to animals lives and the people of Kaua`i's hearts!
