Dear Supporters,
Bloor Homes are planning to build 275 houses on Green Belt Land, South of Saughall Massie Road, Greasby. This is in addition to the 555 houses planned by Russell Homes to the south on this site. This makes a total of 830 houses on this site north of Greasby.
Bloor are part of the Wirral Development Consortium who are challenging Wirrals Brownfield only Local Plan. They say that the Council's housing need figure of 835 new houses per year is too low and that many of the Brownfield sites are unviable. They say Green Belt must be released instead.
Please donate to Wirral Green Space Alliance's Legal Fighting Fund to challenge these ruthless Developers at the Local Plan Inspection. The Consortium have lined up an expensive Senior Barrister, Rupert Warren KC, to act on their behalf at the Local Examination in Public. We want to have legal represention challenging these Developers at the Examination. Donate via this link:

Theses developments will put massive strain on Arrowe Brook which already regularly floods properties in Moreton and regularly flooded gardens and roads further upstream.
This development of 835 houses, The Taylor Wimpey site in Saughall Massie (180 houses), Green House Farm, Greasby (Leverhulme - 240 houses), East of Glenwood Drive, Irby (Leverhulme - 290 houses), South of Thingwall Rd, Irby (Elan Homes - 200 houses), plus the already under construction Bellway Homes Arrowe Brook Park Greasby (127 homes) - means that there is the potential for 1867 houses whose surface water run off will drain into Arrowe Brook. (including roads, driveways, patios etc).
Yet the Developers argue that there will be no increased flood risk! How many times across the country have we seen new housing estates cause flooding, when they were given planning permission based on erroneous assumptions in flood risk assessments? As Climate Change is to increase the frequency and intensity of storms - do you believe the Developers who are set to make £100millions from these housing estates?

Please donate as little or as much as you can to our legal fighting fund. Once the Green Belt has Gone, its gone forever and trying to stop flooding retrospectively will become more and more difficult, especially as the Developers will have disappeared into the sunset!.
Thanks for your support
