Dear Supporters

Your help is needed - please donate to our legal fighting fund. Bloor Homes want to build 500 houses on Green Belt in Irby. On land between Telegraph Rd and Irby Rd, behind Irby Hall , Townshend Ave, Penrhyd Rd and South Drive.

Bloor Homes are part of the Wirral Development Consortium, a Consortium of 13 local landowners and Developers who are challenging Wirral's Local Plan. They have an expensive legal team lined up to argue for Green Belt release for housing.

PLEASE DONATE TO THE WIRRAL GREEN SPACE ALLIANCE LEGAL FIGHTING FUND TO CHALLENGE THESE DEVELOPERS AT THE LOCAL PLAN EXAMINATION IN PUBLIC. Donate via this link:

The Council have submitted a "Brownfield Only" Local Plan to the Local Plan Inspector. Bloor and the Development Consortium argue that the brownfields identified by the Council are not viable or developable. They argue that the Council's Housing Need figure is too low and must be increased and Green Belt must be released.

They are absolutely focused on getting Green Belt released. They have hired Rupert Warren KC to challenge the Local Plan at the Examination in Public. He specialises in planning law and getting planning permission for Developers on Green Belt.

There is a lot of money to be made and they will be intent on increasing their massive profits. Bloor Homes is owned by Billionaire Businessman John Stuart Bloor. In 2022 they filed PROFITS of £318million. They sold 4241 house last year - thats an average profit of £75,000 per house. So they stand to make a profit of about £37million from this site in Irby and they will do everything they can to make it happen.

We must stop these Developers at the Local Plan Examination and prevent them from persuading the Local Plan Inspector that Green Belt must be released. The people of Wirral must band together against these greedy developers. Please donate as much or as little as you can afford. Once the Green Belt has gone it has gone forever.
