We are frustrated. Every day we read the news of the global ecological collapse accelerating: permafrost is melting faster than predicted, species are rapidly becoming extinct, and the oceans are gasping for oxygen. For decades, we have been a bully to the environment around us, causing radical global heating and pollution. This one is on all of our shoulders.

We want to become people that nurture the environment, which so kindly allows us to live. Instead of measures which only come into effect in ten, twenty or thirty years, we want measures right now, which treat this ecological collapse like the global emergency that it is. Even though we recognise that emergency measures will drastically change our daily lives today, it will mean preserving a future for us, and the generations to follow.

Short Term Global Climate Emergency measures:

1. Immediately stop emitting fossil fuels.
2. Stop mining, drilling, fracking fossil fuels.
3. Plant as much trees/plants as possible.
4. Immediately stop eating meat.
5. Immediately stop all unnecessary industrial production of goods such as candy, disposable toys, fast fashion, any form of disposable plastic …
6. Immediately stop the mass incarceration of animals, especially cattle.
7. Immediately stop all deforestation, instead spend funds on reforestation.
8. Immediately stop flying, especially recreational flying.
9. Move towards a zero-waste society.
10. Take measures to cool our oceans.
11. Implement any temporary technological method in order to: save the oceans from asphyxiation, withdraw greenhouse gasses from water and air.
12. Take action to save any species threatened with extinction.
13. Accept that the chaos which this emergency implementation creates is infinitely less damaging than the catastrophe which awaits us from inaction.

Long term Global Climate Emergency measures:

1. Create an alternative for the profit-based money economy.
2. Replace all jobs which are lost due to emergency measures, with jobs in sustainability and environmental innovation.
3. Create a zero emissions lifestyle for every world citizen.
4. Create an international court for environmental offences (ecocide).
5. Create a plastic free future.
6. Care for climate refugees.
7. Create a universal basic income to compensate for the loss of jobs due to the emergency measures.
8. Ask all millionaires to invest the bulk of their fortune in environmental innovation projects.
9. Ask all millionaires to invest the bulk of their fortune in buying land in order to create nature reservations.
10. Build an international environmental governing body.
11. Build an extensive global and affordable railroad network.
12. Educate all human beings to love and respect the environment which so kindly allows them to live.
13. Grant every species the right to a habitable environment.
