A city as big as New York City deserves to be clean and organized considering the mass population of it. For this petition, we are targeting the Mott Haven neighborhood in The Bronx, which our school is located in. The streets of this neighborhood deserve to be clean not only for us students, but for the residents of this neighborhood. I myself can vouch for this because I live in the South Bronx where most of the neighborhoods are low income, meaning that these neighborhoods are typically neglected especially when it comes to sanitation. There has not been one day where I have walked out of my building and have not seen dog feces on the floor or an overwhelming amount of trash. The residents of these neighborhoods witness a lot of littering and mismanagement of where trash is supposed to go. Our goal is to have more trash cans and non littering signs in this neighborhood to avoid the constant amount of littering as well as the overfilled trash cans. More trash cans will help to lessen the amount of littering and overall clutter within the streets of Mott Haven. With your help we can add more trash cans and littering signs in hopes of making the community more hygienic and suitable for the residents.
