Porto is not a big city, however, CS community has been growing lately and that is also thanks to the events which have connected all couchsurfers in town. This also brought new people to the app, friends of previous couchsurfers. That means more hosts in town, for the increasing flow of travellers around.

Besides more hosting options, now travellers can meet around 40 people in each event.

One year ago, events in Porto were commercial, organized with fake accounts by a bar.
Some real couchsurfers, got together and started making events somewhere else.
In that moment, reports of commercial interests by the previous bar, led to their events and accounts being deleted.

Despite long exchange of emails with CS support, and about 50 emails of travellers and a petition with more than 150 signatures in favour of the events reaching them, accounts were not reinstated. However, events were tolerated when created with other accounts at different bars.

Lately, couchsurfing support started deleting all accounts and events again. More than 20 people were deleted without any explanation.
When all the community was finally in peace and enjoying the meetings together with travellers.

Support is not talking with Porto community and just deletes events and accounts without suitable proof and clarification about the exact reasons.

The founding ideas of CS were exchange and sharing and this whole issue seems very far away from that.
