Correct the Failures of Selective Service
The Issue
My family has a strong history of service in the military. It is my belief that every man should be required to sign up for Selective Service. Our shared commitment and sacrifice are what keep us united and free. Unfortunately, only around 92% of American men aged 18-25 are currently registered for Selective Service, as per data from the Selective Service System (2021), highlighting a significant gap in the system's coverage. It is an essential rite of passage and a necessary provision for our nation's defense that suffers from unnecessary failures. We cannot sit back and watch as this mandatory service falls apart due to negligence and inefficiency. We must mend these shortcomings now. We call upon the Selective Service System and our elected officials to investigate and rectify these failures and ensure that our country's defense remains strong and that all eligible men are registered in the system. 50 year old Craig David Cullum age 50 born December 1974 has NEVER signed up for Federal Selective Service law since President Jimmy Carter in 1980 all men between 18 to 26 have to sign up born after December 1959.

If required to register with Selective Service, failure to register is a felony punishable by a fine of up to $250,000 and/or 5 years imprisonment. Also, a person who knowingly counsels, aids, or abets another to fail to comply with the registration requirement is subject to the same penalties.
