Fire Corporal Jerahmy Williams and hold him accountable for the death of Zane a 5 year old K-9 Officer.
The Issue
On July 17th, 2015 in Conyers, GA Cpl. Jerahmy Wiliams locked his assigned police K-9 Zane in his patrol car in front of his residence. Zane remained in the car a reported 10 hours in sweltering heat with estimated temperature of up to 94 degrees without circulation. Zane passed away from heat related issues due to the neglectful attention of Cpl. Wiliams. While Conyers, GA police department mourns for the death of a fellow officer Cpl. Williams is on a paid leave.
It seems lately when officers commit heinous crimes their not convicted. for example; in Alabama Cpl Josh Coleman liked his assigned K-9 named Mason. He left him unattended in a vehicle in the heat on June 23, 2015. officer Nelson Enriquez trapped two police dogs in his vehicle and killed them both on May 29, 2015. There are also numerous reports made by the general public that animalss are being injured by cops on duty and rarely do the owner of the loved pets receive justice.
Have you ever wondered why the charges are so extensive when a citizen harms a police dog? Well to quote"Chris Cosggriff the founder Officer Down Memorial page "when a police officers killed, it's not just an agency that loses an officer, it's an entire nation." The charges reflect the number of years if you had killed and human officer for example; Ivinis Rosier a teenager tried as an adult killed officer K-9 Drake and was sentenced to 23 years in prison, and in South Carolina Maurice Mccrery 24 year old man killed officer K-9 Fargo and was sentenced to 35 years in prison.
As a community I hope this petition puts pressure on the Conyers Georgia Police Department and hold Cpl. Williams accountable for the life he took. The charges and expectations for these animals should be fair and balanced. Let's promote a change and shift the pendulum of justice.
