Northcott Prairie School has been a significant pillar of our community, providing our children with quality education and a nurturing environment. Recently, a decision was made to relocate our middle school kids to Muriel Clayton School which is well outside our community and takes away our children’s ability to walk to school. This proposed move is not only disruptive for our children’s education but it also impacts their social development and community ties. Statistics show that a change in school environment can lead to a dip in academic performance and an increase in stress level among students, especially during critical middle school years(Psychology Today, September 2019). We believe that our children's best interests should be the primary consideration in such decisions. Therefore, we urge the relevant educational authorities to reconsider this decision.
