Tomorrowland Speedway has been an attraction at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom since it’s opening on October 1st, 1971. For 47 years, the ride has run solely on gas which has left a carbon footprint in the area between Tomorrowland and Fantasyland. Orlando has 89 sunny days and 147 partly sunny days with a total of 236 days combined. That’s a lot of sun! Why not use natural energy to power this attraction or go electric. Disney currently has a solar panel plant built and they are beginning construction on another that will power two other parks. Tomorrowland Speedway would be a perfect attraction to be run on solar energy.
