The following people, would like to petition the Oconee County School Board Members to convey the Seneca Middle School property, located at 810 W. South 4th Street in Seneca, to the City of Seneca, to be used for expansion of the Seneca Recreational Department for much needed additional field, court and gymnasium space.  

The Seneca Recreational Department currently serves 2,400 – 2,600 youth annually.  There are 550 children currently signed up for basketball this season – with only 3 gyms to practice in.  We have children on waiting lists, who want to play sports, but can’t because the teams are full.  We can’t create more teams because we have nowhere for them to play.

Expansion of the Seneca Rec Site, would provide additional field, court, and gymnasium space necessary  to accommodate the growing number of children in our community, who are interested in playing sports.  

Please sign the petition below if you are in agreement with the Oconee County School board conveying the old Seneca Middle School to the City of Seneca, for expansion of the Seneca Recreational Department.
