Convert the old fire station into the new Brookfield Recreation Community Center

The Issue

New Community Recreation Center

First, let’s express our appreciation for the dedication and hard work of our Brookfield fire department. They are the backbone of our community's safety and protection, and we are all grateful for their service.

However, it has become clear that the current 45 year old Shields Ave fire station is no longer able to meet the needs of our community. It is outdated and too small to accommodate the changing needs of the fire department.

Therefore we propose the construction of a new, state-of-the-art fire station, and the conversion of the old fire station in Ehlert Park into the new Brookfield Community Recreation center.

The new fire station will be equipped with the latest technology, including advanced communication systems and modern firefighting equipment, which will allow our firefighters to respond to emergencies more quickly and efficiently and provide a higher level of protection for our citizens.

Additionally, the conversion of the old fire station into the new Brookfield recreation center will provide much-needed space within our largest park for our community to come together and engage in healthy, active activities. It will feature a gym, basketball court, program areas, and other amenities that will attract people of all ages and interests. This will provide a much-needed boost to the local economy and help to create a sense of true Brookfield pride.

We understand that this project will require a significant investment, but we are sure that it will be well worth it in the long run. Not only will it improve the safety and well-being of our citizens, but it will also provide a valuable resource for our community.

We support this initiative in making this new fire station and community recreation center a reality. Together, we can create a safer and stronger community for generations to come.
