As a student who commutes to CSUN I have been facing significant challenges due to the frequent last-minute cancellations of our 4:00pm Wednesday class. These abrupt changes have not only caused me financial strain by missing hours at work but also deprived me of valuable instructional time. We are already deep into the semester and these disruptions are hindering our ability to gain comprehensive knowledge on the subject matter.

Many students like myself rely on public transportation or ride-sharing services such as Uber and Lyft to commute. The lack of timely notice for class cancellations makes it difficult for us to adjust our schedules accordingly. Given these circumstances, it would be most beneficial if this class is shifted online.

According to a study by Bay View Analytics (2020), online learning has proven effective in delivering quality education while providing flexibility for students with diverse needs. By moving this class online, we can ensure continuity in learning irrespective of unforeseen circumstances that may prevent physical attendance.

We urge the administration at our institution CSUN,  to consider this change for the benefit of all students enrolled in this course. Please sign this petition if you agree that converting our 4:00pm Wednesday EPC 451 class into an online format will help us finish the semester with as much knowledge on the subject matter as possible.
