Conversion of The Grey Horse to an HMO

Conversion of The Grey Horse to an HMO
The Issue
In the heart of Glazebury, The Grey Horse Pub has stood as a cherished local establishment, a place where families gather, friendships are forged, and the community thrives. The proposed change in use from a well-loved pub to a House in Multiple Occupation (HMO) threatens to alter the very fabric of our village.
Glazebury is known for its family-oriented atmosphere and tight-knit community. Transforming The Grey Horse into an HMO risks turning our beloved village into a more transient environment. An influx of transient residents could lead to potential strain on our local services, which are already operating at full capacity. Our housing market may also suffer, with house prices potentially declining and deterring prospective new families from settling in our village.
Proximity of the proposed HMO to our primary school raises further concerns. The safety and cleanliness of the area must be paramount, and it's feared that this change could result in issues emanating from possible mismanagement. Instead of an HMO, this historic building should be revitalized for purposes that would benefit our entire community—such as a local community center, a family-friendly restaurant, or a space for local artisans and businesses.
We believe that Glazebury deserves better than to become a victim of convenience for property developers. The Grey Horse can and should remain a vibrant part of our community’s future, not just a space for transient occupancy that does not contribute to the long-term well-being of Glazebury.
Join us in opposing this change of use. Sign this petition to preserve the spirit and safety of our village, and ensure The Grey Horse continues to serve a meaningful purpose in Glazebury's community. Together, we can make our voices heard.
