Hunterdon County residents pay the highest property taxes in the nation. Damage caused by Hurricane Irene and other factors will result in higher property taxes during fiscal year 2012. With crime rates on the rise and more layoffs to police officers to come, we need to send a clear message to our elected officials!

We, the undersigned, request responsible spending and termination of unnecessary infrastructure projects. We demand for an immediate termination of the reconstruction of the County Bridge F-45 project, on White Bridge Road in Franklin Township, which will cost taxpayers over $2 million!

Hunterdon County Freeholders must exercise financial responsibility by reconsidering the project, fix the current bridge if needed, and place the remaining funds into surplus account for the uncertain times ahead.
