Continuing the Work Revered Raleigh Rucker

Continuing the Work Revered Raleigh Rucker
The Issue
We desperately need your help. The late Reverend Raleigh Rucker founder of Mt Patmos and Raliegh Rucker Funeral Home opened the doors.of his business more than four decades ago and immediately grabbed the community's attention with the infamous quote, "Where No One Is Turned Away". Rev. Rucker provided professional homegoing services and connected with families throughout the State of Georgia. Always encouraging others to never look down on a man unless you are reaching down to pull the person up.
Recently, Reverend Rucker's heirs have encountered social and immoral bankrupt individuals who he help when he was alive, have now set out to destroy and steal his legacy and even worse to create unnecessary hardship for his sons to manage and maintain the business Rev. Rucker established.
Religoius leaders in control of the church has asked the court for a restraining order to keep his sons out. Their father passed nearly three years ago, and these people would not even permit them to have a key to freely enter their father office.
Now they have gone to an even darker place and informed Rev. Rucker's sons, through their attorney, that in order for them to use Mt. Patmos Baptist Church, the church their father founded and pastored for more than 40 years, they will need to pay these people money. It's one thing to ask for a love offering or even pay a percentage of the utilities, but their demands are outrageous and heartless.
Reverend's premise and devotion was to serve faimilies during the most challenging times in their lives. He objective was to use his calling, the church and funeral home as a one stop shop for families and was well known as the Preacher who turned no one away.
Now his sons are face with the difficult decision of closing the doors of the business their dad work so hard to establish and maintain.
Closing these doors will not only have a negative impact on this historical black owned business, but also people in this community. It does us a disservice for another building in our community to be boarded up. Some of these people for months have been deliberately encouraging and directing families to use other funeral homes as a way to accelerate the demise of this business.
To use the church, Rev. Ruckers's son will need to pay an estimated 700 hundred dollars per funeral, yes per funeral, and $900 per month for grieving families to park, in the parking lot connected to the church.
Rev. Rucker built some life long friendships and relationships with politicians, other religious leaders, judges, law enforcement and the GBI agents. We need help in getting the word out to let these people know what his heirs are experincing and help us oppose the cruel and insensitive treatment toward his heirs. Although all of his children has remained resilient, they have endured unnecessary stress.
One has to wonder, why would any decent person desire to destroy a black own business with such a long history and dedication to the community. Some of these very people even worked at his funeral during times when they needed help. Why would one work so hard to destroy the business that he built through years of blood and sweat. We are reaching out to the community and public officials to assist us. If you a politician, senator, public service official or attorney, please take a moment of your time to use your voice to oppose these distasteful antics.
Whatever resources or connections you have, please join as in opposing these actions. You can help by spreading the word and making sure the community, members at your church, preachers in the community, people on your job, legislators, and senators. Help us get our message out to DeKalb County Sheriff's department employees who knew and loved Reverend Rucker.
We need to ban together and need your help to let these individuals know we expect more from the religious leader of Mt Patmos Baptist Church located at 2207 Candler Road in Decatur. Instead of trying to beat these young men down, these individuals involved in these shanigans should be paying homage for the work their father put in. They should be attempting to stand in the gap for their Patriarch, but instead they are stripping them of everything to build your own fortune. I have supported Stacey Abrams and Senator Warnock throughout the years. I have knocked on doors for them and I planned to send them this petition to help me/us. Even if you know people out of State who oppsed this type of Christian behavior, share our message. Together we can show these people that God is not pleased with their hateful and vindictive motives.
We need thousand and thousand of signatures. Please use you voice to help us call these people out and let them know we oppose of their attempt to destroy this black own business and levy their greed and desire to spread evilness against Rucker's heirs. Reach out to your community leaders and legislator for suggestions.
On behalf of the Rucker family, I thank you for taking the time to read this message and I pray God touch your heart to use your voice to save Raliegh Rucker Furneral Home.
Rev. Rucker is gone, but not forgotten!!!!! People can erase and remove his name and treasures from the building, but you will never erase him from of hearts.
Thank you in advance for you help
