Chickens have no place in our Elk River neighborhoods. They're loud, unsanitary, and a nuisance to our residential way of life. Chickens belong on farms where they can roam freely without disturbing a community’s peace.

Like many of you, I am concerned about the introduction of chickens into residential areas here in Elk River, MN. These animals are not just a charming farm novelty; they bring with them noise disturbances, bad odors, and potential health hazards, including pests and diseases. Chickens can be unruly, often escaping from their enclosures and causing damages to neighbors' properties, leading to conflicts and grievances within our peaceful communities.

Currently, there's a push to integrate chickens into our city’s residential areas. To maintain the quality of life we cherish, it's imperative to stand up and make our concerns heard.

Let's remind our city council that Elk River values its peaceful, clean, and tightly-knit community atmosphere.  There's no reason to urbanize our city.
