The Issue

Volleyball at the Crabtree Recreation Center is the sole reason many of us signed up for membership.

The joy and camaraderie we experience during open volleyball sessions held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays are irreplaceable. These sessions often become a backbone of our weekly routines, offering not only a physical workout but also a social connection and mental refresh.

Myrtle Beach thrives on community activities that bring people together, promoting health and wellness. Volleyball stands out among team sports, offering unique benefits that other activities simply don't match.

Unlike many sports, volleyball requires minimal equipment and technical skills to start playing. It is inclusive, accommodating players of varying skill levels, and encourages teamwork, strategic thinking, and communication. These are skills and experiences that enrich our lives and community bonds.

Open volleyball isn't just an activity; it is a vital community service at the Crabtree Rec Center. Losing these opportunities would mean losing a crucial outlet for stress relief and physical activity for many residents. The sessions offer a constructive way to manage health, build new friendships, and create lasting memories with family and friends in an inclusive environment.

We understand that resources and space can be limited, but maintaining these sessions on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays is essential. We respectfully urge the management of the Crabtree Rec Center to continue permitting these volleyball sessions and to recognize their importance in fostering community spirit and promoting healthy lifestyles in Myrtle Beach.

Please sign this petition to keep our weekly volleyball sessions alive, ensuring that Crabtree Rec Center remains a hub for fitness, friendship, and community interaction.
