Bring Back Buckyballs

Bring Back Buckyballs
The Issue
Before you say anything, I do realize that there are already other petitions aimed at the CPSC on this issue, however, this petition points SPECIFICALLY at helping keep "Buckyballs" alive.
I truly believe that there are some products that simply should NEVER be sold, however I also believe that there are products that are given an unfair judgement. Buckyballs are small, spherical, ultra-powerful neodymium magnets. They are (in my personal opinion, from personal experience) the most fun you can ever have with magnets.
"Unfortunately, young children easily confused the small magnets with candy. After a few hundred thousand units were sold, the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission took notice, as they have in the past with other toys containing magnets." -GIZMODO
After a few strong warnings, the CPSC and Buckyballs reached an agreement, the labels were changed to include a more "appropriate" warning.
It would appear that wasn't enough, because in late 2012 - 13, the CPSC forced a recall of Buckyballs, and found Craig Zucker (the co-founder of Buckyballs) personally responsible for the costs of the recalls, which "could total as much as $57 million" (the actual amount was no more than $375,000)
The CPSC claims that since 2009, 1700 children have been hospitalized because of Buckyball related incidents.
"Buckyball advocates and even one CSPC commissioner have argued that the CPSC's actions against Buckyballs were unfair and unprecedented, and that the commission's settlement with Zucker out of court was something of an admission that perhaps they'd gone further than reasonable in trying to prevent harm to children. Some even suggest that the CSPC's actions were vindictive, that they went after Zucker personally because he refused to concede to their judgment, and because he spoke out against what he saw as hypocrisy." -GIZMODO
I personally believe that it is up to parents to protect their children against the dangers of magnets. I am asking the CPSC and the Federal Government to decriminalize and/or stop all legal action against Buckyballs and their creators, and allow the sale and production of neodymium magnet desk toys (including buckyballs, and any other magnet based products).
Play safe, and have fun.
