Hello all,
There is news that works are ‘hoped’ to begin in April to develop some of the greenway. But still no progress on the main issue: the landowner who continues to obstruct part of the route between Caddington Woods and the Village.
I started this petition because c800 of my fellow residents cannot walk or cycle safely to their local doctors, pharmacy, shops, pub and places of worship. They were promised it, it is in the local plan and it was paid for years ago.
If an agreement cannot be reached in the spring when the window for completing the works arrives I think we can securely come to the realisation that the objecting party has no good intentions and no good faith. In which case I would urge people and the authorities to shift lobbying focus toward getting compulsory purchase orders issued. It is a long process. But apparently so is the planning inspectorate backlog on disputed path orders. Enough time has passed already without progress. In the meantime Chaul End Road - our only access point most of the year continues to host danger, damage, closure and frustration. How about the objector withdraws now? compromise achieved and we can see the whole path developed in time for the summer? This would be acceptable. A partial path will achieve absolutely nothing for us.
Thank you - please tell your friends and neighbours. We need local signatures. Central Beds Council are due to hear our case in the Chamber in April.
