Your continued support for this campaign is much appreciated.
Last Wednesday (19th) saw the theoretical expiry of a 37-week deadline for the planning inspectorate to look at a referred path order. At this time our community should be celebrating a confirmed path order and commencement of works to deliver the Heritage Greenway.
Instead opponents of the Greenway have much cause to celebrate. The case has not been referred to the planning inspectorate because the reality is a backlog way in excess of the published time tolerances. Reliance is instead hanging upon the goodwill of the objecting landowner who has done everything they can in to frustrate and delay delivery of the local plan. Are they going to withdraw their objection in time for works commence in the spring? As we have been told to hope for? The saga has gone on for long enough. If this withdrawal does not arrive before this petition is due for presentation to the council in April I for one would be hoping to see CPOs issued. And for it to restore the original route across the middle of the field. It’s the easy road or the hard road. And my goodness haven’t the community endured enough frustration and inconvenience already?
Please sign, please share. This campaign should never have been necessary. The path should have been built as promised before the final homes were handed over at Caddington Woods. Some say it will never be built. I say keep fighting for this!
