Firstly thank you!

This week has seen one of the biggest setbacks our campaign could face: Local opposition to the path order that was published by the Council in April which at best will delay the construction of our path and at worst bring its future into doubt.

You have made a difference this week. By sharing and signing this petition you have sent a clear message to those opposed to safer community links. A short walkway in the Parish of Caddington is not too much to ask from a community of 325 households who have no shop, no doctors and no pharmacy of their own. The road is loathed by all who have to drive it. The current rights of way are a mess. Unmaintained and impassable in all but the best of weather.

I can show you what a Heritage Greenway looks like. This was last Friday. Ayot Greenway in Hertfordshire. The authorities look after their traffic free rural links very well and therefore have the backs of their residents. It’s time our own local authority showed the same commitment to its residents.
