As a resident of Pill, I find it absurd and time-consuming to use the M5 bridge just to get myself over to my own town. From Shirehampton's park and field, one can clearly see Pill's port. It feels ridiculous that we don't have a more direct route.

The construction of a footpath bridge from Pill to Shirehampton would not only make our lives easier but also promote walking as an eco-friendly mode of transportation. According to the Department for Transport, UK (2019), walking trips have decreased by 19% since 2002. This is alarming considering that walking has numerous health benefits and contributes significantly less pollution compared with motor vehicles.

Moreover, this new footbridge could potentially boost local tourism by providing easy access between these two beautiful locations in Bristol. The economic benefits could be substantial.

We urge the local council and relevant authorities in Bristol to consider this proposal seriously for the benefit of our community and environment alike.
