The urgently needed refurbishment of the Guaracara Tabaquite Road.

The Issue

Since 2nd December 2019, I have begged the Ministry of Works to assist in the refurbishment of the Guaracara Tabaquite Road and Garth Road which are undoubtedly two of the worst roads in Trinidad and Tobago.

On January 8th and 9th 2020, minor patching took place along the Guaracara Tabaquite Road between Reform Presbyterian and Williamsville Junction.

During the 3rd Regional Coordination Meeting at the Princes Town Regional Corporation (PTRC) in February, a representative of the Ministry of Works indicated that the ministry was awaiting material and within two weeks it would be sorted.

The 3rd Regional Coordination meeting was held in February. I can confirm that the road has not been patched to date.

I find it highly disrespectful to the citizens who utilize  this road way daily, that streets in San Fernando that do not accommodate high volumes of traffic such as Garth Road  are being paved and repaved constantly, hmmm!

The constant cry is that the ministry has no  money or equipment, will not be accepted at all. You found the money and equipment to repave the marginal seat, San Fernando West. Please find the money and equipment to sort out Naparima and Princes Town. To you our votes may not matter but it’s your responsibility to care about our lives and needs.
