Citizens and constituents of Conroe/ Montgomery County Texas are long overdue for a much needed OWS (Outdoor Warning System) Conroe has experienced dangerous and violent weather without warning which has caused death and destruction as recently as May 23, 2023.  There is currently no warning system for tornado warned storm cells or any other disaster notification other than smartphones, TV, or radio which can all be “down” during inclement weather. OWS sirens can run on battery backup and speak direct vocal messages about impending threats. These are no longer just “tornado sirens”.  Warning systems save lives.
