Connect NHS IT systems

Connect NHS IT systems
The Issue
My husband had a biking accident in Spain and he went to Valencia A&E. Excellent treatment, when I asked about contacting any medical people en route back to UK they told me the information was NATIONAL and if necessary any hospital etc en route would know what had been done etc.
On returning to UK he still felt unwell button enough, according to the attending paramedic, to warrant going to our regional hospital (Leicester Royal) so sent him to Grantham hospital Urgent care ( not an A&E). Well there were tests a plenty and a transfer to Lincoln County Hospital from that.
You would think that all the test results etc from the Lincolnshire NHS would go to his GP in the Leicestershire NHS. Not so. There was no follow up by the GP because they didn't not know there even was meant to be a follow up! I scanned the paperwork I made sure I got from the Lincolnshire NHS to his GP, it was the only way they could get the relevant paperwork onto his records and then his GP acknowledged the follow up needed.
NHS computer systems are still fragmented after all these years. Your ANPR (automatic number. plate recognition) is NATION wide for heavens sake but not your vital NHS information. You go to one county, for example on holiday you had an accident and they can’t access your next information from your own county, not even what medication you might be on. Each NHS area has its own IT system, even within a county GP practices can opt for their own IT system. This is where all of your particulars are kept, medical details, allergies, organ donation information and your next of kin. This is frightening and dangerous. Billions of pounds are given to NHS yet this is not fixed.
This is a Nationwide issue of disconnection.
This must be sorted to make the NHS more joined up so that your NHS details are actually NATIONAL health service
