To the U.S. Congress and Administration:

We, the Iranian-American community, are deeply concerned over the brutal crackdown and violence by the forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran (hereafter referred to as the regime) against its own citizens. Determined to utilize our constitutional voting powers, we demand an immediate, effective, and decisive reaction from our Senate and House representatives and the administration.

Today, the most notable fight for freedom is happening in Iran. The murder of Mahsa Amini, a 22 years old girl, by the regime sparked a worldwide movement demanding justice for Mahsa, regime change, and an end to more than four decades of systematic human rights violations, including crimes against women, children, minorities, and political dissidents. The regime responded with a deadly crackdown, killing hundreds all over Iran, including at least 30 underaged children.

We are tired of the empty words by politicians. We have so far heard lip service and ineffective support for one of the most notable women-led revolutions in the world. We cannot stand by and watch our defenseless youth being gunned down on the streets by the ruthless thugs of this dictatorial regime. We are single-issue voters and will vote in the upcoming election based on the candidates’ practical support in our fight for freedom against the regime of Iran.

Therefore, as long as our legitimate requests regarding Iran issues remain unanswered by the administration and our Congress representatives, we will not vote for them in any of the upcoming elections.

Accordingly, we demand your support via the following:

(1) Global isolation of the regime by cutting all diplomatic ties and recognizing them as a terrorist regime

(2) Expulsion, travel ban, legal prosecution of the regime officials and their families and dependents outside of Iran

(3) Blocking the regime’s access to funds and resources, which will be inevitably used to suppress the citizens, arm terrorist groups, and destabilize the world (including Ukraine) against the American interests

(4) Halting all negotiations and deals with the regime on any matter, such as the JCPOA

(5) Cutting any ties with the regime’s lobbying arms, such as the National Iranian American Council (NIAC), and all related individuals, and rejecting any donations from them

(6) An independent investigation for atrocities committed by the regime and holding them accountable

(7) Providing the necessary mechanisms for the free access of Iranian citizens to the Internet, as well as, medical care for the wounded, raped, and tortured protestors as they are intentionally deprived of these by the regime

(8) Expulsion of Iran from the UN The Commission on the Status of Women

خطاب به کنگره و دولت ایالات متحده آمریکا

ما، جامعه ایرانی-آمریکایی، نگرانی عمیق خود را نسبت به سرکوب شدید و خشونت بار مردم ایران توسط رژیم جمهوری اسلامی ابراز می‌داریم و با استفاده از حق رای خود، خواستار اقدامات فوری، موثر، و قاطع از نمایندگان سنا و مجلس و دولتمردان هستیم.

امروز، یکی از برجسته‌ترین مبارزات آزادی‌خواهانه ی دنیا  در ایران در حال انجام است. قتل مهسا امینی توسط رژیم منجر به خیزش جهانی عظیمی برای خونخواهی او، تغییر رژیم و پایان دادن به بیش از چهار دهه نقض سیستماتیک حقوق بشر، از جمله حقوق زنان، کودکان، اقلیت‌ها، و دگراندیشان سیاسی شد. پاسخ خونبار رژیم به این جنبش تاکنون صدها کشته، شامل ۳۰ کودک، بر جای گذاشته است.

ما از وعده های پوچ سیاستمداران در مواجهه با یکی از برجسته‌ترین انقلابات دنیا با محوریت زنان، به ستوه آمده‌ایم. ما نمی توانیم در کناری بایستیم و نظاره گر قتل جوانانمان در خیابان‌ها توسط اوباش خونخوار این رژیم دیکتاتور باشیم. ما رای دهندگان تک‌موضوعی هستیم و رای ما زین پس در انتخابات صرفا براساس حمایت عملی کاندیداها از مبارزه آزادی‌خواهانه ما علیه رژیم خواهد بود. 

بنابراین، تا زمانی که خواسته‌های بر حق ما در مورد مسائل ایران از سوی دولت و نمایندگان کنگره بی‌ پاسخ مانده، در هیچ یک از انتخابات‌های پیش رو به آن‌ها رای نخواهیم داد.

بر این اساس، ما خواهان موارد زیر هستیم:

۱-  انزوای دیپلماتیک جمهوری اسلامی، قطع روابط سیاسی با این رژیم و شناختن آن به عنوان یک حکومت تروریستی

۲- اخراج، منع ورود و پیگیری قانونی افراد وابسته به نظام و وابستگان آنها که در خارج از ایران به سر می‌برند

۳- عدم دسترسی جمهوری اسلامی به منابع مالی خارج از ایران، که در سرکوب ایرانیان استفاده خواهد شد

۴- عدم مذاکره با جمهوری اسلامی در هیچ موردی، از جمله مذاکرات هسته‌ای

۵- قطع ارتباط با لابی‌های جمهوری اسلامی، مانند نایاک، و افراد وابسته به این سازمانها و نپذیرفتن کمک مالی از آنان 

۶- انجام تحقیقات مستقل در خصوص جنایات انجام شده توسط رژیم و مسئول دانستن آن

۷- فراهم آوردن ساز و كارهاي لازم براي دسترسي آزاد شهروندان ايران به اينترنت و مراقبت های پزشکی برای معترضان آسیب دیده که به صورت عامدانه توسط رژیم دریغ شده‌ است

۸- اخراج ایران از کمیسیون مقام زن در سازمان ملل متحد
