Congress: Support the Disability Community Act of 2016

Congress: Support the Disability Community Act of 2016
The Issue
Dear Congress,
We urge you to grant a temporary increase in federal Medicaid funding for providers of intellectual and developmental disability community services.
By temporarily increasing Medicaid funding for providers, organizations like Laura Baker Services Association and others can continue to provide the highest level of service to clients while fairly compensating caregivers for their tremendous work and ensuring that we comply with federal overtime rules. Granting this temporary increase will provide a lifeline that will enable us to keep service quality stable while advocates seek to permanently increase Medicaid rates.
Help disability services providers comply with the Department of Labor’s revision of the overtime exemption rule by supporting the Disability Community Act of 2016 (H.R. 5902), a bill that will provide a three-year, targeted and temporary funding bump to providers so that they can comply with new federal rules not funded under current fixed Medicaid rates.
