Hybrid breeding is the cruel act of taking two separate species and forcing them to procreate and have hybrid offspring. To provide an example, a popular hybrid breed consists of Ligers/Tigons which are the offspring of lions and tigers. The health defects that come with these hybrids include but are not limited to, Neurological defect, High risk of neonatal mortality, Diminished life expectancy, Sterility, Cancer, Arthritis, Genetic abnormalities, Organ failure, Gigantism and unsustainable growth. These hybrids along several others such as the Pizzly (Grizzly and Polar bear), Zonkey (Zebra and Donkey) and Leopon (Lion and Leopard) to name a few, are all bred for the purpose of making money and have to live out their lives in containment and suffering along with many, many other hybrid breeds not mentioned. This extreme animal cruelty created solely for the purpose of making quick money grabs from unknowing tourists, is still legal and practiced in the USA. The congress needs to take a stand to stop these inhumane acts and illegalize the making of these hybrids and hold those who do/did to high counts of animal mistreatment, to bring these animals justice. Not just for the hybrids themselves, but also for the animals that are captured and forced to create them.
