Metastatic breast cancer is the most common cancer among women, and yet we have no national approach to finding a cure. Every year tens of thousands of women in the U.S. lose their lives to this disease, including- last month, my wife and mother of my children. Many institutions are conducting research, but there is no coordination and not enough resources to find a cure without a government directed and funded project to once and for all end this scourge and keep the findings in the public domain. It would cost less in the long run than the cost for care of terminal patients, and it is the humane thing to do.
