Congress, Do Not Renew FISA 702: End Warrantless Surveillance of Americans

Congress, Do Not Renew FISA 702: End Warrantless Surveillance of Americans
The Issue
A powerful U.S. surveillance law is set to expire — and Congress must decide whether to renew it.
Section 702 of FISA allows intelligence agencies to collect communications without a warrant. While aimed at foreign targets, it has repeatedly swept up Americans’ data — and allows agencies to search that data without court approval.
Government reports have documented misuse, including searches involving journalists, political figures, and thousands of Americans.
This is a direct challenge to the Fourth Amendment.
Congress has a choice: renew the program as is, or take a stand for constitutional rights.
We are calling on Congress and President Trump to reject renewal of FISA 702 unless warrantless surveillance of Americans is ended.
