Confront Canterbury-Bankstown Councillors for Improved Local Parks and Services
Confront Canterbury-Bankstown Councillors for Improved Local Parks and Services
The issue
I am a concerned resident who recently relocated to Canterbury-Bankstown with my children. As new members of this community, we were disheartened to discover that the parks in the Panania, Padstow, Revesby, and Milperra areas are grossly outdated and in dire need of significant improvements. It seems apparent that there's a pressing need to demand attention from the Canterbury-Bankstown Council, as individual concerns frequently seem to be marginalized.
Despite my concerted attempts to address this issue with the council, I was met with nothing more than a generalized political response. It's particularly frustrating when comparing the condition of our parks with those in the outer suburbs, where the quality and upkeep are notably better. It appears our community's needs are not a priority for the establishments that should be its biggest advocates.
This situation is not only a personal disappointment, it is a communal concern that affects everyone in the area. Our parks should be safe, well-maintained spaces for children to play and families to gather. They should be places where community members proudly engage in recreational activities, not places that are avoided due to their deteriorating conditions.
By signing this petition, we publicly voice our discontent with the current situation and demand that the Canterbury-Bankstown councillors devote sufficient resources towards upgrading our local parks and enhancing local services. You're not just signing for a park makeover -- you're signing for the betterment of our community.
Please sign this petition and let's ensure our voices are heard by the Canterbury-Bankstown Council. Together, we can encourage a constructive conversation that ultimately leads to necessary changes. Our children, our community, and we ourselves deserve better.
