Subject-Conducting the First Semester,3 Year LLB exams, without completing 90 teaching days would be ultra vires of the norms set by the University Grants Commission.(UGC)

Ref- 1) EXAMINATION TIME TABLE PROGRAMME - FIRST LL.B./GEN.LL.B (SEM I ) (THREE YEAR COURSE) AND THIRD YEAR LL.B./BLS (FIVE YEAR COURSE) (SEM V), L0111 & L0615  DATED 19 SEPTEMBER 2017 by Board of Examinations & Evaluation, Mumbai University

2) Bar Council of India circular dated 03/02.2014(BCI: D97:2014(LE: CIRCULAR NO 2/20014))90 working days in a semester.

Respected Sir,

According to the Bombay high court judgement WPL 3503/2017,In order to ensure maximum admissions in the Colleges in the Extended Round 4 (Institutional Round),CET CELL open the Application Form (Part I) editing link and the Admission Schedule for Extended Round IV and accordingly the Extended Round 4 ended on December  22,2017.

The Mumbai University has declared the first semester examination of the 3 year LLB from Jan 29 2018 to Feb 05 2018, Extended Round IV ended on December 22, 2017 and most of the college lecture commences in the last week of the November 2017,and conducting the exams without completing 90 teaching days would be ultra vires of the norms set by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

The First Year Students are layman to the Law World, its very difficult for the them to grasp the Labour Law,Contract Act,Law of Tort and Legal Language as it will take time to understand the legal terms.UGC 90 days minimum teaching is a must else students will fail the exam.

PRAYERS

It is, therefore, most respectfully prayed that this Mumbai University may graciously

be pleased to:

1)      Postpone the examination time table of the first semester,3 year LLB according to 90-day teaching period prescribed by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

With utmost respect and regards

                                                                                                            Yours sincerely,
