Aleksandr Vinokhodov started this petition to Concordia university

As a student myself I understand how crucial extracurricular activity is in the process of studying and exploring new interests. There are many great subjects we cover during our years of university, but due to the limited time allocation or extra interest in the subject we are left to drift by ourselves in the sea of the unknown knowledge produced by anyone on the internet.

Currently all staff and students can access free Udemy Business which includes free access to thousands of courses. Access will be removed on September 23 2021 which brings us all to the subject of this petition.

There are currently close to 47,000 students enrolled in the university. If we get  together and sign a significant number it should push the change to the university and allow us access to the Udemy past this deadline.

Many of you are right now asking why you would even need access to udemy if all of the information is on the internet:

  1. Clearly structured information by reputable instructors
  2. Easy access and fast paced information retrieval
  3. Up to date information from your industry

I can write even more points arguing that access to Udemy is a positive change that we had over this hard year. We are studying to be more competitive and educated in our fields of choice, by allowing us to access this information Concordia sets us even higher on this ladder giving a possibility to be more respected and well-rounded professionals once we graduate from the university.

Go and take a look at the collection of more than 5,500 online courses that you have access to now. Think about how much you could extract from it and how much you would be more knowledgeable and attractive to your dream company and sign this petition to make the change!
