On August 19th, the Concordia boys soccer team played North Side, a team primarily comprised of non-white students.

According to North Side parent Steve Miller, "Near the end of the game the large contingent of Concordia students started chanting, 'USA, USA.'... One kid was even waving an American flag while wearing a MAGA hat. The NS kids were very upset. I saw several in tears as they were walking to the parking lot..."

As alumni and former faculty members of Concordia, we forcefully condemn this and any behavior by CLHS students that makes anyone feel targeted because of their race or ethnicity. We also call on the school to better educate its students on how actions like these can be painful to others, even if they were not intended to do so.

And we want to reach out and apologize to the North Side community on behalf of all Cadets in an effort to begin the process of healing from the hurt these actions have caused.
