The Russell Sage Play Yard is the heart of our neighborhood, a place where laughter and community spirit flourish. Several months ago, construction began to revamp this cherished spot, promising new beginnings and improved facilities for our children to enjoy. Our enthusiasm has turned into frustration and disappointment as the construction ceased abruptly two months ago, and the promised renovations have yet to see the light of day.

When I contacted the Parks Department to ask about their completion timeline, they indicated that any further work would need to be submitted as a capital project. This implies that they do not have the budget to complete the work. How much longer will we have to wait?

The play yard stands abandoned and incomplete. Kids are left with nowhere safe to play, and with summer halfway over, our community is desperate to see progress and completion. 

We urge the responsible authorities to resume and expedite the construction process immediately. Reinitiate the work site, communicate transparently with the community about issues causing the delay, and provide a realistic timeline for the project's completion.
