The Issue

Dear GCT

We are writing to express our deep concern regarding the recurring issue of inconsistent and excessively high billing for electricity services provided by Global Community Utilities (GCT). As residents and a customers of your utility services, We have noticed several discrepancies in the billing practices that need urgent attention and resolution.

 

Firstly, the most alarming issue is the inconsistency in the billed amounts. Despite conscientiously minimizing our electricity usage, households continue to receive bills that are disproportionately high. This situation persists even during periods when there is minimal to no consumption due to extended absences from the property. This anomaly suggests a fundamental flaw in the metering or billing system employed by GCT.

 

Secondly, there have been instances where residents of our estate have been away for extended periods, yet they continue to receive bills reflecting high consumption as if they were actively using electricity throughout their absence. This not only raises concerns about the accuracy of meter readings but also casts doubts on the fairness and transparency of the billing process.

 

Furthermore, as a collective effort to address these concerns, several tenants within our estate have come together to voice their grievances and sign a petition urging GCT to undertake a thorough review of these issues. We believe it is imperative for GCT to promptly investigate the root causes of the inconsistent billing practices and implement an action plan to rectify these discrepancies.

 

In light of the above, we kindly request the following actions from GCT:

 

1. Conduct a comprehensive audit of the metering and billing systems to identify any technical faults or discrepancies that may be contributing to the irregularities in billing.

  

2. Provide transparent and detailed explanations for the billed amounts, ensuring that they accurately reflect the actual electricity consumption of each customer.

 

3. Develop and communicate a clear action plan outlining steps that GCT will take to address and resolve the identified issues within a reasonable timeframe.

 

4. Consider implementing measures to improve customer service responsiveness and communication, particularly in addressing complaints and inquiries related to billing discrepancies.

 

5. Ensure that affected customers are duly compensated for any overcharged amounts and provided with reassurances that future billing will accurately reflect their electricity usage.

 

As concerned customers who value fair and equitable service provision, we trust that GCT will treat this matter with the utmost urgency and prioritize its resolution. We look forward to your prompt response and actions taken to address our concerns.
