Today, many students like me arrived at our respective exam centers, all in high hopes to write a good psychology exam when we found out that 50% of the marks are allocated to questions which are out of syllabus. I was struck with anxiety and dread as half the textbook I had studied was replaced with material I had not seen before. Others had similar reactions as at first no one spoke out about it and were in shock. We continued to write our papers to the best of our ability awaiting some correction but there was no hope for the first two hours. An hour to go and we got the correction and questions worth 50 marks in total were replaced. How are we to write 50 marks worth of answers in an hour after being put through this anxiety filled turmoil? We asked for extra time but the supervisor told us that they cannot help us. That last hour was filled with anguish for me personally.

Is this a fair examination? One where students are given a question paper that first gives them wrong questions worth half the total marks of the exam and then only giving the corrections in the last one hour of a three hour exam. On top of that, no time extensions were considered. Some centers did not even get the correction. We are being forced to surrender our marks for which we studied. We believe in University of Mumbai and we hope that it considers this issue from our perspective.

Action has to be taken as early as possible otherwise we will be stuck in this scenario of losing our marks by no fault of our own. This is TYBCom IDOL Psychology of Human Behavior at work paper 1.
