Compensate Tenants with One Month Free Rent for Elevator Inaccessibility

Compensate Tenants with One Month Free Rent for Elevator Inaccessibility
The Issue
For some time now, the residents of 25 Selby Street have been bearing the brunt of physical and emotional strain due to the extended unavailability of the building's elevators.
Our every day movements, professional commitments and social interactions have been greatly hampered, resulting in loss of personal and professional time, overcrowded and unsafe elevator conditions, and compromised emergency and safety standards.
Residents have found themselves late for work, appointments and other time-sensitive commitments. The elevator issues have put Residents into significantly closer proximity than is often appropriate, especially during cold and flu season.
Residents have also lost valuable social interactions as friends are reluctant to visit due to the issue.
Many have chosen to forgo the many amenities the building provides because the long wait for the elevators has proven to be to time-consuming of an inconvenience on too many occasions.
The Residents of 25 Selby Street are calling on the managing agents of the building, specifically Tricon Residential, to compensate all tenants with one month of free rent for the discomfort and inconvenience caused by this issue.
This will only partly make up for the functional unavailability of our homes and the serious repercussions it has had on our lives.
We urge you to act swiftly on this issue. Please sign our petition for one month of free rent to compensate for the hardship Residents have been forced to unnecessarily endure had proper planning and stock availability been a priority when the same issue has occurred on prior and repeated occasions.
