As commuting students we are paying to park on campus to attend our classes, while residential students pay to live on campus and pay additional funds to keep their car on campus. Why is it that we get the left over spots? why is it that we have to share our lots with not only other students and staff, but also visitors and event attendees? How often most we check our emails to ensure we are in the know of what lots might or might not be closed, because with almost every time they close off a lot it is us that takes the fall. Over the summer one of our best parking lots was taken from us, without our knowledge, given to on campus students. I have no doubt that I am not the only who is frustrated in these facts, and wants to see some change. This petition is to get better parking for commuters, and highlight that we are students here too and should feel the same amount of safety as those living on campus.
