PLEASE HELP THIS FAMILY STAY TOGETHER
To the Honorable Decision-Maker,

We, the undersigned members of the community, come together with one heartfelt request: please look at this family not only through documents and applications, but through the human story behind them.

We are asking for compassion for Mr. Vinod Prasad, his wife Seema, and their children, Aaradhya and Shivaay, as they seek permanent residence in Canada on humanitarian and compassionate grounds.

Behind this petition is not simply an immigration application.

There is a husband waiting for his family.
There is a wife waiting for her husband.
There are children waiting for their father.
And there is a family hoping that they will not have to face another painful separation.

Mr. Prasad came to Canada with hope in his heart and a simple purpose: to work honestly, support his family, and build a better future for the people he loves.

He left his wife and children behind in India because he believed that the sacrifice of being apart would eventually give them a more secure life.

He worked hard. He followed the rules. He built his life through honest employment and tried to contribute to the community around him.

But life took an unimaginable turn.

In September 2024, Mr. Prasad suffered severe heart failure.

The man who had come to Canada to work and provide for his family suddenly found himself fighting for his own life.

He underwent major open-heart surgery and required the implantation of a Ventricular Assist Device.

A person can prepare for many things in life—but no one prepares to hear that their heart is failing.

And no family prepares to watch someone they love go through such a frightening medical crisis from thousands of kilometres away.

While Mr. Prasad was fighting for his health, his wife and children were left carrying their own pain and fear from far away.

His wife had to continue caring for their children while worrying about the man she loves.

His children had to face questions and fears that no child should have to carry.

Will my father be okay?
Will I see him again?
When will our family finally be together?

These are not immigration questions.

These are human questions.

For this family, the word "family" is not simply a name on an application form. It means love, responsibility, emotional support, and the hope of being together when life becomes difficult.

Mr. Prasad's illness has already changed his life forever. He has faced physical hardship, emotional hardship, financial uncertainty, and immigration uncertainty—all while trying to remain strong for his family.

Yet, despite everything, he has continued to fight.

He has continued to hope.

He has continued to believe that his family can one day be together and that he can continue building a meaningful life in Canada.

We ask you to imagine, for just a moment, what it would feel like to be in his position.

Imagine being seriously ill in a foreign country.

Imagine facing major heart surgery.

Imagine waking up from surgery knowing that your life will never be exactly the same.

Then imagine looking around and realizing that the people you love most—your wife and your children—are still far away.

That is the pain this family has been carrying.

We believe that this is precisely when compassion matters most.

Mr. Prasad did not choose to become seriously ill.

He did not choose to be separated from his family.

He did not choose for his life to be interrupted by a devastating medical emergency.

He came to Canada to work and build a future.

Circumstances beyond his control changed everything.

And now, after everything he has endured, he is simply asking for the opportunity to remain in Canada and continue rebuilding his life while preserving the possibility of being reunited with his family.

His children deserve the opportunity to have their father present in their lives.

They deserve to grow up knowing their father's love, guidance, and support.

His wife deserves the opportunity to stand beside her husband—not only during the good days, but especially during the difficult ones.

And Mr. Prasad deserves the opportunity to face the future with hope rather than fear.

A family should not have to choose between love and survival.

We respectfully ask that the best interests of the children, the family's prolonged separation, Mr. Prasad's serious medical circumstances, his establishment in Canada, his history of lawful work, and the extraordinary hardships this family has experienced all be carefully considered.

We are not asking you to ignore the rules.

We are asking you to consider the compassion that exists within them.

Canada has long been admired as a country where human dignity matters, where families matter, and where people facing extraordinary circumstances can be treated with compassion and understanding.

Today, this family is asking for that compassion.

Please look at their story.

Please consider what they have already endured.

Please consider the years of separation.

Please consider the fear surrounding Mr. Prasad's health.

Please consider the children who simply want their father in their lives.

And please consider the possibility that a compassionate decision could change the future of an entire family.
