The Issue

We, the undersigned members of the community, respectfully submit this petition in

support of Mr. Vinod Prasad, his wife Seema, and their children, Aaradhya Kotnala and

Shivaay Kotnala, and their application for permanent residence in Canada on

humanitarian and compassionate grounds.

This petition is submitted with sincere hope that the decision-maker will carefully

consider the unique and compassionate circumstances facing Mr. Prasad and his

family. We believe that their situation reflects the very type of circumstances for which

humanitarian and compassionate relief exists.

Mr. Prasad came to Canada with a simple but admirable goal: to work honestly,

support his family, and build a stable future for those he loves. Like countless

newcomers who come to Canada seeking opportunity and security, he left behind his

wife and young children in India and accepted the emotional burden of separation in

order to provide for them. His decision was not motivated by personal gain, but rather

by the desire to create opportunities and stability for his family.

Since arriving in Canada, Mr. Prasad has demonstrated a strong work ethic and a

commitment to contributing positively to Canadian society. He obtained lawful

employment as a Food Service Supervisor under a Labour Market Impact Assessmentbased

work permit and worked diligently to support himself and his family. He came to

Canada to work, contribute, and establish himself through honest means.

Unfortunately, Mr. Prasad's life changed dramatically when he suffered a severe heart

failure in September 2024. What began as an effort to build a better future quickly

became a fight for survival. He underwent major open-heart surgery and required the

implantation of a Ventricular Assist Device. This was a life-altering medical event that

affected every aspect of his life, including his health, employment, emotional well-being,

and immigration circumstances.

Many of us cannot begin to imagine the fear and uncertainty that accompanies a

diagnosis of severe heart failure. Even more difficult is facing such a crisis while

separated from one's spouse and children. During one of the most vulnerable moments

of his life, Mr. Prasad was thousands of kilometres away from the people he loves most.

His wife and children could only watch from afar as he underwent major surgery and

faced an uncertain future.

The emotional burden carried by this family has been immense. While Mr. Prasad was

recovering from surgery and adapting to a new reality, his wife was left to shoulder the

responsibilities of raising their children alone while coping with constant concern for

her husband's health and well-being. Their children have lived with the fear of losing

their father and continue to face uncertainty about what the future may hold for their

family.

Despite these overwhelming challenges, Mr. Prasad has demonstrated extraordinary

resilience. Rather than giving up, he has continued striving to move forward. He has

done everything within his power to maintain stability, support himself, and navigate

the complex circumstances that arose following his medical crisis. His determination

reflects the strength of his character and his deep commitment to his family.

Those who know Mr. Prasad describe him as humble, respectful, hardworking, and

kind. He is the type of individual who does not seek sympathy or special treatment.

Instead, he quietly perseveres through hardship while continuing to focus on the wellbeing

of others. His character is reflected in the way he speaks about his wife and

children, his gratitude toward those who have supported him, and his desire to remain

a productive member of society despite the significant challenges he has faced.

Canada is a country known throughout the world for its compassion, fairness, and

recognition of human dignity. It is also a country that understands that life does not

always unfold according to plan. Circumstances beyond a person's control can

dramatically alter the course of their life, and we believe Mr. Prasad's situation is a

clear example of this reality.

His circumstances did not result from dishonesty, criminality, or lack of effort, but from

a devastating medical emergency that changed his life and continues to affect him

physically, emotionally, financially, and socially.

We are deeply concerned about the impact of a negative decision on his family, who rely

on him financially and emotionally after years of separation and uncertainty.

Aaradhya and Shivaay deserve stability and the opportunity to grow with the presence,

guidance, and support of their loving father.

Mr. Prasad has shown meaningful establishment in Canada through hard work,

respect for Canadian laws, community integration, and perseverance through

extraordinary adversity. He seeks only the chance to continue rebuilding a life

interrupted by a serious medical crisis.

We respectfully ask that compassion guide this application and believe permanent

residence would reflect Canada's values of fairness, inclusion, and humanity. The

humanitarian and compassionate factors are substantial, including his life-altering

medical condition, ongoing health concerns, family separation, the best interests of two

young children, meaningful establishment in Canada, and his genuine efforts to

support his family and contribute to society.

For all of these reasons, we respectfully and wholeheartedly ask that Mr. Vinod

Prasad's application for permanent residence, together with the inclusion of his wife

Seema and children Aaradhya and Shivaay, be approved.

We thank the decision-maker for taking the time to consider this petition and for

carefully reviewing the compassionate circumstances that support this family's request

to remain in Canada.
