COMMUNITY SUPPORT FOR ALPHA BOUBACAR BARRY - HUMANITARIAN AND
COMPASSIONATE CONSIDERATIONS
This letter is to show community support for Alpha Boubacar Barry. We have been
informed that there is a possibility of Alpha not being allowed to stay in Canada
permanently and that there is a possibility of him being removed from Canada. We want to
show Immigration Canada that removing him from Canada and separating him from the
life he has built here would be very difficult for him, his friends, his community, and his
family.
We want to persuade Immigration Canada to consider granting Alpha permanent residence
based on humanitarian and compassionate grounds.
Alpha Boubacar Barry has been a valued member of our community since his arrival in
Canada on August 10, 2023. He came to Canada on a study permit with aspirations of
completing his education and contributing positively to society. However, due to unforeseen
financial difficulties, he was unable to continue his studies at Université de Saint-Boniface
in Winnipeg, Manitoba. This situation was beyond his control, as his family’s financial
situation in Guinea deteriorated, leaving him without the necessary resources to pursue his
education. His father, who had financially supported his studies, encountered serious
economic setbacks, making it impossible for him to continue sending financial support.
Despite these setbacks, Alpha has demonstrated remarkable resilience, integrity, and
commitment to bettering himself and his community. He has made significant efforts to
integrate into Canadian society, improving his English language skills and securing
acceptance into the Mechatronics program at the University of Alberta. Unfortunately, due
to his lack of legal status, he was unable to enroll. This is a clear example of his
perseverance and his continued desire to contribute meaningfully to Canada. If given the
opportunity, he will continue his education, further develop his professional skills, and
contribute both socially and economically to the country he now calls home.
Alpha is not just an individual seeking personal advancement—he is a community builder.
He is the founder of Stat View International, a non-profit organization dedicated to data
science and analytics. Through this initiative, he has worked towards fostering innovation
and knowledge-sharing within the community. His vision is to create opportunities for
others, provide valuable analytical insights, and support research initiatives in Canada and
beyond. This organization is a reflection of his dedication to his field and his ambition to
give back to society through knowledge-sharing and practical solutions.
His presence in Canada is not only beneficial to him but to those around him. He has
played a crucial role in the upbringing and well-being of his nephew, Fode Mamadou Keita,
a Canadian citizen. As a father figure to Fode and a supportive family member to his sister
Kadiatou, Alpha’s contributions to his family’s emotional and financial stability cannot be
understated. Removing him from Canada would create an unnecessary disruption in the
life of a young Canadian child who relies on his guidance and care. The psychological and
emotional toll of such a separation would negatively impact his nephew, who considers
Alpha an integral part of his support system.Furthermore, Alpha’s involvement with the community extends beyond his immediate
family. He has formed strong relationships with friends, mentors, and local organizations
who can attest to his character, work ethic, and aspirations. His dedication to self-
improvement, education, and community service exemplifies the qualities of an ideal
Canadian resident. He has participated in various community-driven initiatives, proving
himself to be a responsible and engaged individual with a strong desire to make a
meaningful contribution to society.
Forcing Alpha to return to Guinea would not only jeopardize his future but would also
nullify the sacrifices he and his family have made for him to succeed. The economic and
professional opportunities he has sought in Canada do not exist in Guinea. His brother,
Abdulaye, faced similar circumstances and was forced to return to Guinea after his
Permanent Residence application was refused. He has since struggled to reintegrate, facing
immense hardships. Alpha fears that he will face the same difficulties if forced to return.
Returning would mean the loss of educational and career opportunities, along with a sense
of security and belonging that he has built in Canada.
Alpha’s story is one of perseverance, determination, and an unwavering belief in the value
of education and hard work. His aspirations align with Canada’s values of inclusivity,
opportunity, and self-improvement. Canada has long been a country that welcomes and
supports those who are committed to bettering themselves and contributing positively to
the community. Alpha embodies these principles and deserves the chance to fulfill his
potential within Canada’s borders.
It is for these reasons that we, the undersigned, urge Immigration, Refugees and
Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to grant Alpha Boubacar Barry permanent residence under
humanitarian and compassionate considerations. He is an asset to Canada, embodying the
values of hard work, perseverance, and community engagement. Denying him this
opportunity would not only be a loss to Alpha but to Canada as well. By allowing him to
remain, Canada will benefit from a dedicated and industrious individual who is prepared to
give back to society in meaningful ways.
We respectfully ask that Alpha’s case be reviewed with compassion, recognizing the
hardships he would face if forced to leave, as well as the immense contributions he has
already made and is poised to continue making in Canada. His presence in Canada will not
only uplift him but also benefit the many individuals he has already influenced through his
work, education, and support for his family.
We, the undersigned, stand in solidarity with Alpha Boubacar Barry and fully support his
application for permanent residency.
As a community we support Alpha’s application for permanent residency based on
humanitarian and compassionate grounds. Please allow him to stay in Canada, a place that
he already treats as home.
Every person undersigned here joins in this request.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
